    Sleep was made in sept 2001 and was given away to dj olive's friends in new york that month as a hand made CDR. Sleep was composed in dj olive's brooklyn studio, skin tone riddles over many years and put together as a continuous sleeping pill sept 2001. This release was the beginning of a long exploration by olive into the idea of neutral field music as medicine. Sleep was released on Room40 in 2006. Clay Between Your Toes was originally created for DJ Olive's second Sleeping pill mixtape, Buoy, in 2003-2004 and released on ROOM40 in 2004 as a CD. This is not the same version used on Buoy but an alteration discovered in the lost and found at Skin Tone Riddles recording studio in Brooklyn.

This is a sleeping pill... 
Listen to it as quietly as you possibly can. 


Mainly two things are going on at once. 
One is a metaphor. 
Buoy - an anchored marker that maps the passing waves. 
Boringly singular, but never the same twice. There for you in a storm. 
The other is an environment. 
A sleep over, early morning light across the room, a screen door occasionally whispers as someone moves about. 
Light fingers touch something. 
Curled in a cozy corner friends near by at the edge of sleep.

The agriculture ASCAP 2004. 
Recorded during sunrises throughout December 2003 at Skin Tone Riddles Studio Brooklyn.
